| What's Testing? Exactly what it says. Testing new or unfamiliar equipment and or processes or for suitability as a model for future client derived commissions. Testing for suitability is unlikely to take more than 15 minutes, whereas testing equipment or processes can take a considerable amount of time. This can lead to some beneficial images for a model, but that is not guaranteed. What's TFP/TFCD From my point of view I simply ignore the generic description. This is a mutual benefit shoot. That means that both photographer and model should gain a real and tangible benefit from the shoot. If not we're back to a commercial basis. What Can I expect to receive? You can expect to get around 15 to 20 of the best selection of images, from a full day shoot, edited and web ready for your use in self promotion. Prints can sometimes be part of the equation, but that depends on what we agree prior to the shoot. However, prints are always available at a reasonable cost at any time following a shoot. You won't receive all of the images from a shoot in any format whatsoever. My reasoning behind this is that unedited images are simply no use to a model. I expect to keep full creative control of my images that may appear in an area of public access. You will also not receive full resolution digital images. |
Selection
cropping and editing of images is a time intensive exercise for me. The
easy option for those who simply don't care about their photography is
to give a model unedited jpegs at the end of a shoot. Job done no more
time involved at all. On to the next one. Why do you need a Model Release signed for TFP(CD)? Simply because NOTHING is free. I have business related costs that need to be recouped if possible. Plus the right to use my copyright material for your self promotion into the future, without hinderance. Will you pay Travel Costs? No. We all have expenses to meet for our self promotion. If I travel to a model I don't ask for my costs to be covered, hence I have no interest in contributing to a model's travel expenses. My sole aim is to produce good quality images in whatever styles and genres a model is comfortable to work in. Do you do Part Paid/Part TFCD? No, Never. It's either mutual benefit or it's commercial. There is no in between. Sorry. |
